TotalEnergies Nigeria, Reveals Winners of its 2024 Startupper Challenge .

Winners have emerged in this year’s special edition of the TotalEnergies, Nigeria Startupper Challenge organized to celebrate its centenary Anniversary.

The three winners in the local category were honored during an official prize-giving ceremony in Lagos.

The are: Temitope YAKUBU in the Innov’Up category for being the best entrepreneur with his project “INTERKOOL BY FARMCI”, a portable, solar-powered solution for preserving and transporting farm produce, extending shelf life and reducing disease risk for small-scale farmers and retailers.

Jacob ABIODUN in the Cycle’Up category with his project “COCONOTO” for Transforming coconut value chain for a greener and more sustainable future.

Emmanuel ABAH in the Power’Up category with “WASTE to LIGHT LTD” a Hydro Turbine to produce electricity from wind and hydro sources, by converting plastic waste into 3D printed wind and hydro components.

In order to help them develop their projects, these young entrepreneurs will receive N8M grant, each.

They will also be given personalized support to develop their projects, along with local visibility, to boost awareness of their plans.

In Nigeria, 5906 applications were submitted, out of which 1540 successfully completed their application process.

The best 100 projects were selected; 14 finalists pitched their projects to a local panel of experts and three top winners were selected.

This year’s edition of the exercise featured 32 participating countries,
40000 registrations in which 14000 completed the applications.

TotalEnergies has been in Nigeria for more than 60 years, with more than 1,800 employees across different business segments.

Nigeria is one of the main contributing countries to TotalEnergies’ hydrocarbon production where the Company produced 204 000 boe/d in 2022.

It also operates an extensive distribution network which includes about 540 service stations in the country.

The Company is particularly attentive to the socio-economic development of the country and is committed to working with local communities.
